Hi everyone we are The Buckhorn Trails Association in the scenic heart of the Kawarthas, residing in the Municipality of Trent Lakes, County of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
Some Buckhorn residents and cottagers have had a chance to hike/x-country ski/snowshoe/pole walk at the John Earle Chase Memorial Park near Gannon’s Narrows bridge. You may have noticed a new sign that was installed a few weeks ago. One of our local residents, Bert Weiss, had the sign made and arranged to have it installed in honour of his neighbours, the Chase family who donated the property to Parks Canada in honour of their brother John Earle Chase who was killed in action during WWll. (Bert was raised on a property near the Chase farm). Although the park is temporarily closed as per the directive from Parks Canada, we look forward to the day when we can enjoy this beautiful park once again.
We now have an Instagram account, so that people can follow us, check it out.
